Padilla terrorism trial postponed

A U.S. judge postponed until April the trial of alleged Al Qaeda operative Jose Padilla on charges of aiding Islamist terrorists in a case that tests the limits of U.S. presidential authority.
The trial of Padilla and two other men had been scheduled to start this month, but the court is still waiting for an appellate ruling on the dismissal of the most serious charge against them, a murder conspiracy count that carried a maximum sentence of life in prison.
