Murder suspect is a ‘good kid’?

I enjoyed the piece on the new film “Alpha Dog,” about the killing of the 15-year-old kid a few years ago [“No Hollywood Ending,” Jan. 7].
It amazes me how people view those who commit brutal acts. The most amazing part is the Hollywood elite. They want to find forgiveness for the doers of the crime rather than solace for the victims.
Michael Mehas feels Jesse James Hollywood is a misguided young man who should be offered consolation for what he did rather than punishment. According to Jesse’s drug-dealing dad, the kid was a good kid. And Mehas thinks of Jesse as “a human being that loves his family, who is loved by his family and who doesn’t deserve to have his life taken from him.”
But the fact remains: A 15-year-old kid was murdered.
