When objects are too dear to let go

RE “The Pull of Possessions” [Jan. 18]: Realizing that possessions have such strong sentimental attachments can be the first step in letting go, but it’s still difficult. We’ve lived in the same house for more than 30 years, and it’s filled with precious memories.
Twenty-three years ago we lost our beloved daughter, but I keep some of her things in her closet because she’s still in my heart. If, God forbid, we ever have to move, I will take her things with me. Some things are too precious to part with.
