From Times Wire Reports
About 80 protesters, including American Indian activist Russell Means, were arrested after blocking Denver’s parade honoring Christopher Columbus, an event they denounced as “a celebration of genocide.”
Police loaded protesters onto buses after they refused orders to disperse. Most will be charged with obstruction of a roadway or disrupting a lawful assembly.
Denver’s parade, which was started in 1907, has a history of arrests and confrontations between supporters and detractors of Christopher Columbus.
