Countrywide’s Mozilo’s actions may not be illegal, just heartless

There may be nothing illegal about Mr. [Angelo] Mozilo’s sale of stock. (“Report: Mozilo sales probed,” Oct. 18.) But at a time when Countrywide is laying off up to 12,000 employees and devastating that many families, Ken Lay [former chairman of now-defunct Enron Corp.] could not have been more heartless.
